We had a good flight from Auckland. We were delayed an hour before we got off the ground but once airborne, the flight took 10 and half hours. Della watched about 3 films, Tracy started a few but couldn’t get into any. We gained 4 hours, from Auckland to Singapore, so although it was a day flight, by the time we landed, and got to our destination, it was late for our body clocks.
After using the Cashpoint to obtain Singapore Dollars, we ventured outside of the airport terminal to be hit by very hot and humid temperatures. We had a taxi ride from the airport across the city, and were able to get our first glimpse of Singapore by night. It looked very clean, with a lot of green areas in between the high rise buildings.

We arrived by taxi at the Jade apartments, in Bukit Batok, a suburb to the East of Singapore Island and our temporary home for the next 2 weeks. We are house and pet sitting for Leone and John who were there waiting for us when we pulled up in the taxi. We went up to the 18th floor, where we met Pokey and Oscar, the two Tenterfield Terriers.

After a bit of chatting we went to bed , as by 11pm our bodies thought it was about 3am!
We had a lovely cool, air-conditioned room in which to lay our weary heads.
