The following posts are a little out of sync not least because pre-Christmas trip to Victoria and the excitement and fun of the festive season saw us lag seriously behind with our blog entries! Sorry!
Continuing with our preparations for Christmas and to add to our mounting excitement(!) we visited the local United Church in Parksville for a performance of "A Christmas Carol". The cast were superb and the readings were very well performed making for a very enjoyable adaptation of Charles Dickens novella. Afterwards, our new friends, Kathy & Gord took us for a "pint" at the local (The Shady Rest - http://www.shadyrest.ca) where we enjoyed a drink and some nachos before heading for home. Lovely.
The following weekend we visited another church in the locale, the United Church in Qualicum - the reason for our visit was to see a performance of "The Winter Rose". The choir presented the cantata (A cantata literally 'sung', derived from the Italian word 'cantare') and yet again a very impressive performance was enjoyed.
We headed home feeling even more "Christmassy" - we do love Christmas!!
