These are the days of our lives. Our posts are intended to record and convey the experiences we are so lucky to be enjoying. The photos will hopefully make up where the posts fall short. As with all things, expect little and you may be pleasantly surprised!!

Oot and Aboot!

Edinburgh is a wonderful city and we were able to enjoy exploring it for 2 whole weeks during August/September.

We were looking after 2 dogs, a Newfoundland and a Golden Retriever, both a joy to care for and real sweethearts. We were living just a bus ride away from the centre of town so we could easily access all that there was to see and do. We arrived towards the tail end of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and we were able to browse the comedy venues and soak up the atmosphere. The weather was kind and aside from a few days when it rained we were lucky to have sunshine and reasonably warm temperatures during our stay.

Our hosts took us to a vegetarian restaurant before their departure where we had one of the best veggie meals ever!

During our stay we visited Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat (which was just behind the house), Holyrood Palace, the Botanic Gardens, the Royal Yacht Britannia, Grassmarket and Princes Street, The Royal Mile and we ventured over the Forth Bridge to the Kingdom of Fife.

All in all, we had a great first visit and hope to return some day soon.
