Signs of Spring
Last week we enjoyed 5 consecutive days of sunshine and clear blue skies.
Spring flowers are blooming; daffodils, grape hyacinth, crocus, snowdrops, pansies, forsythia, cherry and apple blossom are abundant and the many rhododendrons are budding. The golfers have been out in their droves! The waters of the Strait of Georgia could not be calmer, almost lake-like. We have mallard ducks pairing up on the pond just outside the house and of an evening we can now hear the tree frogs calling late in to the night. Deer are almost a daily sight, along with racoons and all sorts of garden birds. It is light by 6am and the sun is setting just before 7pm. The longer, lighter days are welcome as is the warmth from the early Spring sunshine. Spring is here and we are looking forward to enjoying more time outdoors, walking, picnicking and simply taking the time to enjoy nature in all her glory. Bring it on!
